Q&A: The Icarus Account

For fans of:
Matt Nathanson     Chase Coy

Ben Rector          The Script

(Hosted by Patrick Rangel, So Fresh Int; Answered by Trey Turner, The Icarus Account):

Q: Last year you released a record in August. How was the feedback so far? What is the next step?

A:     The feedback has been awesome, especially at the beginning (we sold more in pre-orders and in the first week on itunes that we had ever sold in an entire month of previous releases).  I think the coolest thing about it is that we continue to keep selling the entire album, as opposed to just one or two popular singles.  It shows that we really do have a dedicated fanbase that wants to listen to an entire CD of our music, and it's not just one catchy song that is blowing up on the internet.  It is rewarding because having an album really sell well these days is rare, and a lot of labels and bigger name
producers/managers won't even count on selling albums, just singles.  I think the next step is to just keep releasing quality music, and hopefully songs that are written better, produced better, and performed better.

VIDEO Q&A: Backslashes + Bad Ideas

I recently got the chance to interview yet another Pop-Punk band from New York known as Backslashes and Bad Ideas.  Now say that five times fast!

"We are a collection of five friends who love inspiring, driving and passionate music. We play honest, emotional songs that are inspired by a range of artists. We leave our hearts and soul on the stage when we perform. We love our fans like old friends. We hate general labels and genres. We have a sense of humor. We are Backslashes and Bad Ideas."

Q&A: The After Effect

Take some time during the holidays to read up about The After Effect!

They are a highly energetic 5-piece Rock n' Roll band from Michigan.  They're adding a new, modernized flare to 80's hair and classic rock!

Let your hair down, tighten your leather, and rock on to some loud drums, raunchy guitars, pounding bass, and a rowdy frontman!
